Our Services

Jewelry Repair and Restoration

We are the only jewelry store in Wayne that has a Certified Goldsmith on premises. We also have state of the art equipment to repair your precious jewelry pieces. Our laser welder allows us to use full gold to solder gold jewelry, for instance, instead of low karat solder, to create a longer lasting repair. We can also repair jewelry with fragile gems or costume jewelry due to low heat from the laser.

Our decades of experience allows us to offer our clients creative solutions to complicated restorations. We value the sentimentality of jewelry and work diligently to preserve your pieces and restore them to their full glory. Bring in your jewelry for a free consultation.

At take-in, your repair is evaluated and various options are discussed. We inspect the jewelry item thoroughly and suggest ways to prevent future problems. Once an agreeable procedure has been decided, a photo of the piece is taken and the tasks described on the receipt. We give an general estimate as to the expected cost to complete the process.

Although we repair items in house, the repair process overall takes anywhere from one week to three weeks, depending on the complexity of the project. We request that a rush order or a specific date requirement is discussed at take-in. Rush orders may be subject to additional fees.

Our repairs are guaranteed for one year after completion. This guarantee applies to actual spot that was repaired in the past. We will consider extending special pricing on repairs to the same item with-in one year that are not covered under the one year warranty, depending on the circumstances.

Appraisals

We are proud to have a Certified Gemologist on premises to appraise your jewelry for insurance purposes, or update existing appraisals to current values.

The jewelry is professionally cleaned so that the gemstones can be accurately graded. Measurements and metal weights are taken, gemstone weights are calculated by formula, and gemstone quality is inspected. The piece is then described in detail, with the features listed and the photograph printed directly on the appraisal.

Generally, an appraisal requires a minimum of seven business days, but is more commonly completed within fourteen business days, depending on the amount of pieces included. If there is a large quantity of items to be appraised, we kindly request that only a few items are left per visit.

If you have previous paperwork on your jewelry item, such as previous appraisals or Lab Certifications, please bring copies along with you, as they will reduce the amount of time necessary to complete the process, and sometimes reduce the appraisal fees..
