A diamond hybrid consists of a crystal core with lab grown diamond infused to the outside of the core. The outer layer of diamond is bonded at the molecular level, giving the gem a higher durability factor. Diamond Hybrids are VVS in clarity and DEF in color. The higher hardness of hybrids make them a superior choice over the most common diamond simulant, cubic zirconia. Hybrids are harder, and more stable since they will not cloud or discolor. Hybrids are available in sizes that mimic the diamond dimension for 0.25 carat to 3 carat gemstones. They cost approximately $300 per carat, a great value for their beauty.
We create diamond hybrid jewelry at Farnan Jewelers by special request. The most popular creations include stud earrings, tennis bracelets, and solitaire necklaces. Rarely, a client will request a hybrid in an engagement ring so they can upgrade the mounting to platinum and plan to replace the hybrid at a future time.
You must see these gems to believe them. Since the outer layer is actually diamond material, they sparkle just like a natural diamond!
